EDF Energy employees raise £6,000 for Marie Curie in Christmas raffle
A charity Christmas raffle organised by employees at EDF Energy, has raised around £6,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Representatives from the charity visited EDF Energy’s offices in Hove last week as the winning tickets were drawn.
£12,000 raised at EDF Energy’s Torness power station for Marie Curie
It has been a busy year for fundraisers at EDF Energy’s Torness power station with more than £12,000 raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care through various events. The charity has been EDF Energy’s partner since May 2013 and this will continue until 2016.
Dungeness B receives The Wildlife Trusts’ Biodiversity Benchmark
Station director, Martin Pearson, said: “I am thrilled with this award. It is recognition of our commitment to work with our many local partners including Natural England and the Romney Marsh Countryside Partnership, to protect the very special environment around Dungeness B."
Torness power station works with local schools to encourage children’s maths skills
EDF Energy’s Torness power station is taking part in an initiative called ‘Together We Count’ run by five local primary schools and a secondary school in a bid to improve children’s number skills and encourage them to use maths.
