Sasha takes top apprentice accolade

Sasha Merrick took the main award at EDF Energy’s apprentice graduation ceremony which saw all 45 of the company’s final year apprentices commended for their efforts during the four-year training programme by Brian Cowell, EDF Energy’s managing director.

Hinkley Point C announces the launch of the Technical Support Alliance to provide engineering and technical services to the nuclear new build project

The Hinkley Point C Project has announced the launch of a new multi-million pound technical and engineering services agreement (The HTSA) which comprises existing Tier 1 services suppliers Atkins, Frazer-Nash Consultancy and Wood plc.

Unions show support for Sizewell C

Prospect union, accompanied by representatives from the TUC, Unite and GMB, are visiting nuclear power station Sizewell B on Friday (4 October) to show their support for construction of the new Sizewell C and discuss future funding options.

Cottam Power Station powers down after half a century

Cottam power station has switched off for the final time. Since it started generating in 1968 the station has produced nearly 500 terawatt hours of electricity – enough to single-handedly power the UK for around 18 months. It was originally planned to operate for 30 years

Update on Hinkley Point C project

The Hinkley Point C project successfully delivered J-0, the completion of the nuclear island “common raft” for its first unit in June 2019, in line with the schedule announced in September 2016. Following this major milestone a detailed review of the project’s costs, schedule and organisation was performed.
