Safety video success during Hunterston B maintenance outage

Hunterston B power station has worked with a local community organisation to ensure safety on site during its maintenance outage. The EDF Energy station teamed up with Ayr-based Moving Arts Scotland CIC to create a new virtual reality training video.

Five star success for Hunterston B visitor centre

Hunterston B power station's visitor centre has retained its five-star rating from VisitScotland. The visitor centre is one of just seven attractions in Ayrshire and Arran with a five start rating, an accolade it has held since 2013.

Boost for North Ayrshire business as Hunterston B power station maintenance starts

There will be a boost for businesses in North Ayrshire as hundreds of additional workers join the team at EDF Energy’s Hunterston B power station to carry out a major maintenance programme worth around £20m. One of the two reactors at the power station has been taken off line for an eight week period.

Hunterston B workers take to the sky for charity

Three dare-devil members of staff at EDF Energy’s Hunterston B power station have taken part in a charity skydive to raise money for the company’s official charity partner, Breast Cancer Now. Fundraising efforts have the station have raised more than £9,000 so far with the skydive raising more the £2,000 of that total.

Hunterston B worker tackles Three Peaks for charity

A member of staff at EDF Energy’s Hunterston B power station has conquered the United Kingdom’s three highest peaks for charity. Ardrossan man Martin Gaetano who is a project planner at the station put his skills to good use to mastermind the challenge which he completed with four of his friends. They raised more than £1,600 for Beatson Cancer Charity in the process.

Hunterston B gives funding boost to local women’s charity

A North Ayrshire charity which offers emotional and practical support for women and children affected by domestic abuse has become the latest beneficiary of EDF Energy’s Scottish Charity Fund. The owner of Hunterston B power station has donated £8,000 from the fund to North Ayrshire Women’s Aid.
