Boost for East Lothian as extra workers head to Torness

Businesses in East Lothian will experience a boost this autumn as hundreds of additional workers join the team at EDF Energy’s Torness power station to carry out a major maintenance programme worth around £34m.

Fairy trail magic for Torness visitors

The fairies have been weaving their magic over the Torness visitor centre as record numbers have flocked to the station during the summer holidays.

More than 600 children and their families have made their way to the EDF Energy power station to check out the centre’s Fairy Trail.

A Christmas cracker for Torness visitor centre

Around 250 children from schools in the Lothians and Borders took partin Torness power station's annual event Christmas Cracker open learning week which gives them an insight into everyday life at the powerstation.

Torness team give gardening help to East Lothian children’s charity

An East Lothian children’s charity has benefited from the green fingers of a group of staff from EDF Energy’s Torness power station. A team of four lent their helping hands to Aberlour Options – Lothian and gave the centre’s garden a makeover.

Scotland’s women’s curling captain, Eve Muirhead, visited Ross High in Tranent (7 June) as part of EDF Energy’s education outreach work to talk to them about the links between sport and science.
