SEDGEMOOR District Council members have been given a preview of the new purpose-built accommodation units which are being constructed by EDF Energy to house 1,500 workers for the Hinkley Point C project.

Call for apprentices to join growing HPC workforce

THE opportunity to forge a career at one of Europe’s largest construction sites is on offer as an apprentice at Hinkley Point C. EDF Energy is looking for apprentices to fill a number of roles in the supply chain and engineering departments at the new nuclear power station.

Skills event to showcase Hinkley Point C careers for young people

YOUNG people aged between 16-21 are being encouraged to sign-up to a new initiative to get hands-on at a skills day and meet the people who are helping to build Britain’s first new nuclear power station in a generation, Hinkley Point C.

Contracts for the UK’s first new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C in Somerset were signed one year ago on September 29, 2016. EDF Energy’s latest photography and video shows the progress on site where construction is fully underway.

Nottinghamshire firm begins delivery of £50m contract for Hinkley Point C nuclear power station

Caledonian Modular from Carlton-on-Trent near Newark employs about 150 people and was awarded the contract by main contractor Laing O’Rourke. 

The first accommodation units rolled off the factory production line in March and are being delivered to Somerset 96% finished.

Hinkley Point runners step out for charity

RUNNERS from Hinkley Point were out in force for the nuclear sites’ annual charity fun run. This year, around 50 people took part in either a 10km or a 5km run, following a new route around the Steart Marshes nature reserve near Combwich.
