Extra workers to benefit East Lothian economy as Torness power station maintenance gets underway

Businesses in East Lothian will experience a boost this Easter as hundreds of additional workers join the team at EDF Energy’s Torness power station to carry out a major maintenance programme worth around £28m. One of the two reactors at the power station is being taken off line on Friday 7th April for a nine week statutory outage.

Hunterston B power station support for North Ayrshire children’s club

A holiday club that caters for pupils at two of North Ayrshire’s special needs schools has been given a financial boost by Hunterston B power station. EDF Energy, which operates the station, has donated £8,000 from its Scottish Charity Fund to the Butterfly Club.

Torness power station support for East Lothian children’s charity

An East Lothian children’s charity has received a financial boost from one of the area’s biggest employers. EDF Energy, which operates Torness power station, has donated £8,000 to Aberlour Options – Lothian from its Scottish Charity Fund.

Torness engineers mentor local bright sparks

EDF Energy is supporting a group of 11 students from Edinburgh and the Lothians who have taken up a 10 week challenge set by the Engineering Development Trust. The schools from Edinburgh and East Lothian are taking part in the project to inspire young people to study science and increase the connection between their studies and potential future careers.
