Torness power station donates funding to Dunbar Hockey Club
EDF Energy’s Torness power station has donated money to Dunbar Hockey Club ahead of the new season which has just begun. Weekly training is already underway at Hallhill Sports Club ready for matches starting at the end of September.
Torness power station director, Paul Winkle said, “Everyone has enjoyed the Commonwealth Games over the summer and it is important that we continue to focus on sport and keeping fit as part of the legacy from the event. With this in mind I am delighted to give £1000 to Dunbar Hockey Club and would encourage new players to take up the game. I wish the club all the best for the season ahead.”
Claire Berwick, Chairperson of Dunbar Hockey Club said, “We are a small club and are very grateful for the donation. It is a very positive start to the new season and the money will be a huge help to us, as we rely solely on self-funding and the commitment of our members. We are always looking for new players of all ages and abilities.”
Any interested new players should get in touch with Dunbar Hockey Club by e-mail to email@example.com.
