New EDF tool helps businesses find energy savings to drive down costs
EDF Energy launches PowerNow in partnership with MeasureMyEnergy
PowerNow is a live energy monitoring technology designed to drive cost savings for businesses and reduce their carbon footprint
Businesses are able to view detailed real-time energy consumption, enabling them to find efficiencies and improve their performance
EDF Energy has partnered with MeasureMyEnergy (MME) to launch PowerNow, a solution that measures live data across a business’s entire estate to identify where energy is being consumed and potential savings.
The technology uses a cloud-based analytics platform that gives customers an itemised view of their energy consumption and spends across different sites, office floors, factory zones, and even specific lighting or heating circuits. This provides complete transparency on where and when energy is being used and can show return on investment through accurate measurement.
In addition, PowerNow can also act as an alert system to inform businesses if equipment starts using more energy than it should. This can be a sign of a maintenance issue and when this happens PowerNow can act as an early warning system before a full breakdown.

Through the installation of PowerNow at EDF Energy’s Atlantic House site in Crawley, it was able to gain insight into the energy consumption of the four floor office space, constructed in the 1990s.
Using the online dashboard, more than 280 different points were monitored across the site in real time, primarily measuring machines, lighting and the heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
By implementing behaviour change and energy saving measures using this data, EDF Energy expect to achieve a 15% reduction in annual energy spend at this site.
