Community Update - Extension of Dungeness B maintenance outage
The highly-skilled engineers and technicians at Dungeness B are carrying-out a major programme of maintenance and repair tasks aimed at underpinning the station’s future performance in the coming years.
The station will continue to produce low-carbon electricity safely and reliably for many years to come – and with this in mind engineers are working through a very full and thorough service, which will stand us in good stead for the future.
Due to our long-term planning aimed at maximising the contribution of Dungeness B over the next decade and possibly beyond, we have decided to further extend the scope of our current work-plan, particularly on inspections and maintenance of steam-line systems.
We have informed our regulator of our latest conservative forecasting, and as a result have announced return to service dates of late September for Reactor 21, and mid- October for Reactor 22.
However, it should be noted our teams are working to earlier target dates on station. We will of course keep you updated on any changes to the longer-term forecast.
