The Balfour Beatty sprayed concrete lining team celebrate the completion of their final tunnel breakthrough. This is the conclusion of over 600m of tunnelling onshore to form the initial excavations of the connection tunnels for the cooling water systems.
Paul Pike in front of three TG columns on Unit 1â€™s Conventional Island. The columns are 15m tall and weigh 32 tonnes. There will be 15 in total for Unit 1 and are designed to support a reinforced concrete table where the turbine will sit.
