Budget Direct Debit: why your payments can change if you have a smart meter

We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.

My account number starts with '67'

Your smart meter gives us regular meter readings, so we can see how your energy use changes over time.

We'll look at your smart meter readings when we review your Direct Debit (we do this at least twice a year).

If we see that your energy use has gone up or down, we might have to change your monthly amount to get your payments back on track.
