Budget Direct Debit: why payments can go up when you're in credit
We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.
My account number starts with '67'
Your payments will go up after a Direct Debit review if we need to get your payments back on track. This can happen even if you're in credit.
Maybe you're half-way through your Direct Debit year, and you're going into winter without enough credit on your account. Your credit will disappear too quickly over the colder months when you're using more energy, and leave you in debt.
Or maybe your energy prices have gone up. This could mean you don't have enough credit on your account to cover your higher energy costs for the rest of the year.
My account number starts with 'A'
