Budget Direct Debit (regular monthly payments): will my payments change after a price change?

We can give you the answer for your type of account, once we know what your account number starts with. You can find your account number in MyAccount, and on your EDF bills, emails and letters.

My account number starts with '67'

We'll always tell you when your prices are going up when you're on a variable tariff. But we'll only increase your monthly payments if your energy prices have changed significantly.

We'll always let you know if your monthly payments are going up.

What happens if you don't change my payments after a price change?

Your monthly payments will stay the same until after your next Direct Debit review. This is when we'll work out how much energy you've used since your price change, so we can charge it at your your new tariff rates.

If you gave us a meter reading the day before your price change, we'll know exactly how much energy you've used at your old prices (otherwise we'll estimate this).

We also check you're on track to cover your expected energy costs for the year.

Don't want to wait until after your review? If your prices have gone up, you can ask us to increase your monthly payments straight away. This will will help you avoid higher future payments.

Find out when your next Direct Debit review is due in My Direct Debit in MyAccount.
