EDF customer 25 December free electricity event - terms and conditions
These terms and conditions apply to the EDF free electricity event taking place from 8am until 4pm on Thursday 25 December 2025 (the “Event”).
References to “you” and “your” mean the EDF domestic electricity customer that has registered an interest in EDF Sunday Saver to take part in the Event.
References to “we”, “us” or “our” mean EDF Energy Customers Limited trading as EDF, a company incorporated in England and Wales with company number 02228297, whose registered address is at Nova North, 11 Bressenden Place, London, SW1E 5BY.
- These terms and conditions are between us and you. These terms and conditions do not amend your existing energy supply contract with us.
- If you are already participating in EDF Sunday Saver, the EDF Sunday Saver terms and conditions will apply in priority of these Event terms and conditions. You will still receive the free electricity during the Event period in accordance with the EDF Sunday Saver terms and conditions.
- To be eligible for the Event, you must:
- register your interest in Sunday Saver in Energy Hub by 23:59 24 December 2025;
- at all times comply with these terms and conditions;
- be aged 18 or over;
- reside in England, Scotland or Wales;
- be a current domestic electricity customer of EDF;
- have a working electricity smart meter (meaning a meter that records information such as consumption of energy and can directly supply us with meter readings) that provides half-hourly meter readings;
- have consented, and not removed your consent, to giving us half-hourly meter reads;
- have exactly one electricity import meter point administration number;
- be on an electricity tariff that has no more than two unit rates; and
- have a valid mobile number on your account.
- We will calculate free electricity consumed by multiplying your total electricity consumption during the Event (capped at 8 hours) by the relevant unit rate of your electricity tariff.
- If we make any overpayment or underpayment to you, we may adjust future payments to reflect this or require reimbursement of any overpayment. Any notified payments are inclusive of VAT.
- We are under no obligation to make any payment to you if we are unable to obtain your meter reads to calculate your electricity usage during the Event. However, if we are unable to obtain at least 90% of your half-hourly meter reads during the Event we will provide you with a payment of a credit amount only of the average amount earned by participants who were awarded the same number of free hours as you.
- By participating in the Event, you agree to receive communication from us via email, SMS, and WhatsApp for service-related purposes to the Event.
- By participating in the Event, you warrant that all information submitted is true, current, and complete. If any information is found to be fraudulent or incorrectly completed or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you are in breach of these terms and conditions or are no longer eligible, we may remove you from the Event and reclaim any payments made.
- We are not liable to you for any loss that is incurred under the Event, including but not limited to any losses which arise from any technological or procedural omission, failures, or errors and/or any action or inaction by us or any third parties or an event beyond direct control on which we may rely upon in order to provide the Event to you.
- In our sole discretion, we reserve the right to reject or revoke your participation in the Event, withdraw from or pause the Event, and/or amend these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any decision taken by us under Clause 8 shall be effective immediately. We shall notify you if amendments are made to these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions in compliance with judicial or regulatory rulings and will not be held liable.
- The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions, their subject matter or formation.
