What happens to my Pay As You Go meter if I switch supplier?

In most cases, your new supplier will be able support your smart pay as you go meter. So you'll just carry on as normal.
 You won't even need to send an opening meter reading to your new supplier, as your meter will do this for you.
 But some suppliers can't support the new generation of smart meters. If this is the case, you will:
  • lose your meter's smart functionality (we'll switch your meter to standard 'credit' mode just before you leave us).
  • have to give your new supplier an opening meter reading (which they pass back to us, so we can use the same reading to close your account).
