What is Flexible Control?
Flexible Control is a long term tariff with no exit fees which ensures, that for the duration of this tariff, that you will always pay 2.5% less than the Ofgem cap price for your unit rates. Ofgem will review the prices twice a year and if these change, your unit prices on the Flexible Control tariff will change to ensure they remain 2.5% less than the Ofgem cap price for your unit rates. These could go up or down and would be effective on 1 April and 1 October. We will contact you via your preferred communication preference to advise you what these will be.
This is available for existing customers who are currently on the Standard Variable tariff. You can sign up for this tariff on line through MyAccount by visiting edfenergy.com/myaccount or by contacting us on 0333 200 5100.
As of 1 January 2019 the Ofgem SVT (Standard Variable Tariff) Price Cap comes into effect. This places a cap on what energy suppliers can charge SVT customers. The cap price was announced by Ofgem in early November and as a result we have launched Flexible Control. This is exclusive for existing customers who are currently on EDF Energy’s Standard Variable Tariff. By signing up to this tariff you can guarantee that you will always pay 2.5% less than the SVT cap price for their unit rates. You can view Ofgem’s published cap prices at ofgem.gov.uk
