I'm a prepayment customer – do I get a prepay bill or a statement?

  • You don't get a bill when you're a prepayment customer – you get one 'prepayment statement' and one 'annual summary' each year.
  • If we supply you with electricity and gas, you'll get a separate statement and summary for each fuel.
  • Your statement and summary give you useful information about your energy use, so all you need to do is read and keep them for your records.
  • If you've signed up to MyAccount, you can find your statements and summaries in your Account Activity page.

What do I do with my prepayment statement?

You don't need to do anything with your statement. But it will help you understand your energy use and costs over the past year.

Your statement tells you:

  • how much money you put on your key or card over the year, and how many top-ups you made
  • your energy charges for the past year
  • how much energy you've used this year, and last year (if this information is available)
  • details about your current tariff, and useful information to use when searching for a new energy deal.

What do I do with my annual summary?

You don't need to do anything with your summary. But it gives you useful information about your energy use. The information helps you compare tariffs when searching for a new energy deal.

Your summary shows you:

  • how much energy you've used this year, and last year (if this information is available)
  • your personal projection: this is how much we estimate you'll spend on energy over the next 12 months on your current tariff; it's really useful when comparing prices of different tariffs.
