How does the Warm Home Discount scheme work in Scotland?

The Warm Home Discount is a rebate that's given out once a year to people who need extra support to pay their energy bills.

People who qualify for the Warm Home Discount 2023/24 will get a rebate of £150.

In Scotland, there are still two groups of people who can qualify for the Warm Home Discount:

1. The Core Group, who get a Warm Home Discount letter from the government automatically
2. The Broader Group, who have to apply to the scheme

Why has the scheme not been updated in Scotland?

The Warm Home Discount Scheme has been given a revamp in England and Wales. This wasn't possible in Scotland, because of the way household data is held.
