How do I get a smart meter?

We’re rolling out smart meters to EDF Energy customers across the country. The easiest way to see if you can get one yet, and book your installation, is to go to MyAccount:

  • go to the 'smart' section in MyAccount (you'll need to log in or register first)
  • book a date and time that suit you
  • get your smart meter installed

Is MyAccount the only way to book a smart meter installation?

MyAccount is the quickest and easiest way to get a smart meter appointment booked. But you can also call us on 0333 200 5104(1).

Why can't I get a smart meter?

You might not be able to get a smart meter for one of two reasons.

First, because of where you live. We're working our way around the country, and aim to give all EDF Energy customers a smart meter by 2024. Or second, because of the type of meter you have at the moment.

What happens if I can't get a smart meter yet?

You'll find out if you can get a smart meter when you try to book your appointment. If you can't, you'll have the option to tell us you want one. And as soon as we can fit it, we'll get in touch to arrange your appointment.
