Successful first of its kind virtual PhD day at the R&D UK Centre

Using our strong partnerships with academics and universities

Because we know that Research and Development cannot be done alone, we are, at the R&D UK Centre, particularly proud to have built strong partnerships with many academics and universities in the UK. The best illustration of these strong collaborations is clearly our numerous successful PhDs over the years.

Showcasing our PhD students and making valuable connections

We were extremely happy to host on the 20th of September our first virtual PhD Day. The aim of this event was not only to showcase our PhD students and their excellent work but also to allow all participants: academic and EDF supervisors, researchers, experts and engineers and of course our PhD students to exchange, create synergies, new ideas and better understand how all these R&D activities contribute in helping Britain achieve Net Zero.

A very successful event with over 100 attendees during the day across EDF BUs as well as colleagues from EDF R&D in France, 20 PhD presentations from various universities such as Manchester, Bristol, Imperial and Strathclyde and representing all the different groups we have at the UK Centre. We are looking forward to organising a similar event in 2022 !
