Celebrating 10 years of Research & Development

By EDF | Posted July 20, 2022

A small event was held in London on the 12th of July 2022 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of EDF UK R&D, attended by members of the team, the two former R&D Directors, Simone Rossi (EDF UK CEO) and a number of senior leaders and members of the Board from EDF UK and EDF Group.

The EDF UK R&D Centre has grown from a very small team in 2012 to a diverse team of more than 80 people with wide-ranging backgrounds, skills and experiences, spanning everything from research to engineering, data science and commercial innovation.

As well as being an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the team, it was also a chance to share some of the exciting things the R&D team are working on now, such as floating off-shore wind, Advanced Modular Reactors (AMR), Hydrogen and Artificial Intelligence.

Patrick Dupeyrat, EDF UK R&D Director, said: “I am proud that the EDF UK R&D Centre became over the last decade the recognised R&D entity of EDF here in the UK, delivering research and innovation to all business units and subsidiaries. We are a well-established Centre, part of the EDF Group R&D and Innovation wider community, and a credible player in the ecosystem of Research and Innovation in the UK.”

Paul Spence, Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs and Chairman of the board of the EDF UK R&D Centre said: “EDF UK R&D’s success is built on its people and culture, with a talented, international and increasingly diverse group of people working together in an open and collaborative atmosphere, building successful internal and external partnerships. I am sure that the next ten years will be even more successful for EDF UK R&D".
