Reflections on the Sizewell C consultation so far...
Written by Jim Crawford, Sizewell C Project Director
You will probably have heard about Sizewell C at some point over the past few years, whether as a result of the regular engagement we’ve been doing with residents’ groups or perhaps from just seeing the SZC newsletter land on your doormat.
Now is the time however that it’s really important to not just talk about it in the pub or read an article on it in the paper, now is the time when you have the opportunity to influence our plans by sending us feedback as part of our consultation.
Suffolk is my home
My name is Jim Crawford and I am leading the Sizewell C project through the planning and consultation process.
Eight years ago I arrived in Suffolk with my family and became Station Director for Sizewell B. I enjoy living here and it is very much home for us now.
Earlier this year I took on my role with Sizewell C and, whilst I naturally want Sizewell C to succeed, it’s also incredibly important that we balance the project’s benefits by ensuring the project’s impacts are as limited as possible for our local residents.
Sizewell C consultation
Since November we have been undertaking a second stage of consultation on our proposals and I know from conversations I have had during this time that there is a wide range of questions, concerns and opinions about the project.
We have now completed our programme of public exhibitions and met with over 2000 people already, but there’s plenty still happening.
2000 people involved and counting
The consultation doesn’t end until February 3 so I would urge you to find out more about the project, read about it on the Stage 2 area on our website or come down to our office in Leiston.
I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved so far – it’s been an incredibly positive experience and I’m looking forward to hearing from all of you as we progress.
