Supporting and investing in the communities of Suffolk and Norfolk

Sizewell C is a vital project for Britain but it is also an opportunity to bring lasting change for the better to East Suffolk. It will provide:

  • Around 2,600 local jobs during peak construction
  • £125 million per year into the local economy
  • £40 million per year during the 60 years of operation

We want to make sure the benefits of Sizewell C to the local community outweigh any disruption during the construction phase. That's why we have developed wide-ranging plans, informed by many consultations, to mitigate the local impact of the project, including a funding package to support the environment, training and education, and local community groups.

Job opportunities for local people

We are offering more opportunities for local people to train, learn new skills and develop a sustainable career.

Suffolk support for Sizewell C

We're not the only ones passionate about levelling up Suffolk and the East of England. We've heard from hundreds of ordinary local people who are equally keen to see more jobs, training and business opportunities in the area again, keeping people and families together. Listen to what a few of them had to say in this video.

Community benefits

Thousands of well-paid, highly-skilled jobs and training opportunities, direct and indirect financial investment into the local economy and community grants are just some of the ways Sizewell C will continue the good work Sizewell B has done to benefit its local communities.

Supporting young people into employment

We are working closely with local schools, colleges, and the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce to deliver employment opportunities for young people living closest to the power station.

Boosting the local supply chain

We are working to build a robust local and regional supply chain to ensure Suffolk and the East of England benefit from this once-in-a-lifetime economic boost.
