National Apprenticeship Week

Today marks the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2019. This annual celebration of apprenticeships will bring the whole apprenticeship community together to celebrate the impact on individuals, employers and the economy. The theme for this year is "blaze a trail" in a bid to challenge outdated attitudes towards apprenticeships and highlight the benefits and opportunities they present to individuals and employers.

At Hinkley Point C we want to celebrate the 378 apprentices who have worked on our project so far. We know the benefits that apprenticeships bring to both the project and our workforce, and our aspiration is to create 1,000 apprenticeships over the course of construction. The wide range of skills we need to build the power station means there really is opportunity for everyone. Apprentices will also play a crucial role in operating and maintaining the power station throughout its 60 years of operation.

Keep up-to-date throughout the week on our Twitter and Instagram. If you’d like to find out more about apprenticeships at Hinkley Point C visit edfenergy.com/hpcapprentice
