We are offering an exciting opportunity for educational professionals in Somerset, to work alongside the Somerset Association of Secondary Heads (SASH) and the EDF Energy Steering Group. The aim of this one-year course will be to strengthen links between education and industry, designing curriculum materials and learning experiences that will raise student aspirations for their future progression into the world of work. As such the programme will have a strong focus on the current and future employment opportunities in Somerset and relating this to the schooling experience.
We believe that industry related learning helps to inspire pupils and should take place in all subject areas. This Inspiring Futures CPD supports new curriculum requirements, develops the teacher's skills and knowledge, and gives evidence to support moving from good to outstanding teaching for Ofsted.
This CPD opportunity seeks to create a network of innovative and inspirational teachers, each working on subject materials that relate to new opportunities for our students and that bring 'life to learning and learning to life'. It's an opportunity to make a tangible impact on your school and students - as well as a chance to expand your sphere of influence.
A Somerset network will be created through this programme in which best practice can be shared between schools. We are offering this unique opportunity to Somerset Schools due to the huge impact EDF Energy and the Hinkley C Power Station development will have on your pupils.
