To be eligible for a £500 grant or from the government towards the cost of your charger installation you will need to show evidence of the following:
For more information on OLEV eligibility visit https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/customer-guidance-electric-vehicle-homecharge-scheme
The above figures are based on the installation of a 7.2KW EO Mini Pro but charging speeds can vary between different plug-in vehicles. Dependent on the vehicle, charging speed can range from 5-10 hours for most cars. For example, a 2018 Nissan Leaf with a 40kW battery, 150 mile range (real world range vs. published range of 169 miles) takes six hours for a full charge.
Electricity for our GoElectric tariff is powered by 100% renewable electricity from renewable sources like wind, solar, biomass, tidal and hydroelectric.
To ensure that we can provide you with renewable electricity, we match 100% of your electricity consumption with UK sourced Renewables Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) certificates, which are issued by the UK energy regulator OFGEM.
Other environmental benefits
Some suppliers include other carbon reducing initiatives such as tree planting in the price of their tariffs. Whilst our GoElectric tariff doesn’t directly fund or offer any additional environmental benefits beyond being sourced from renewable generators, EDF Energy is the UK’s largest producer of low carbon energy and, as part of EDF Group, is one of the largest generators of renewable electricity in Europe.
