Audi e-tron whole life costs
Running an electric vehicle as a company car could save you significant sums, thanks to fuel savings and incentives from the government on company car tax.
For this tax year, 2021/22, electric company cars have a 1% taxable benefit, so you pay very little company car tax and employer national insurance costs
The company car rates for electric vehicles for the next two tax years are 2% of the taxable list price (p11d), so you will continue to make savings compared to a traditionally fuelled vehicle.
The table below shows that when you consider all the costs, rather than just comparing the lease rate, and how running your next vehicle as an electric company car, can add real value to your bottom line.

If your business is paying corporation tax, you can usually offset all your rentals against your taxable profits each year and if you’re VAT registered you can normally claim back 50% of any VAT on the finance element of your lease agreement. If you select the optional maintenance package you can reclaim 100% of the VAT on that element.
Many business owners opted away from company cars as the company tax payable became too large a cost over recent years and run a private vehicle. Running a new electric company car may well prove cheaper and allow you to replace an older, less economical model and reduce your costs.
