What is a hybrid heating system?
Hybrid heating adds an energy efficient air source heat pump (ASHP) to your existing heating system. Here's why it's worth getting a hybrid heating system:
- Reduce your dependency on oil or LPG
- Efficiently heat your home
- Easy to install & you don't need to overhaul your entire heating system
- Back up heat if your boiler stops working
- Reduce your carbon emissions
The experience from start to finish of getting the new system was very smooth. System is extremely efficient, easy to use and will be showing significant savings from our LPG bottles. I definitely recommend others to consider taking up the offer.

What's an air source heat pump?
Air source heat pumps extract heat from the outside air around your home – just like a fridge removes heat from inside itself. This heat is concentrated to a higher temperature by the heat pump and then delivered to your heating system.
The good news is that hybrid air source heat pumps work with your existing oil or LPG boiler. So you don’t have to overhaul your entire heating system.
Reduce the cost of your oil or LPG heating system
A recent government report shows that a hybrid air source heat pump can reduce your boiler usage by up to 80%(1)
That's why we're working with PassivSystems – experts in smart low-carbon home energy services. EDF's hybrid heating solution makes it simple and affordable to reduce dependency on your oil or LPG heating system.
We've created this simple calculator to see your potential savings - you'll get a more accurate view of savings once we have carried out the survey on your home.

Is my home suitable for air source heat pump installation?

- Own your home and have some outdoor space
