Behind the scenes at EDF Small Business: What we've been up to this year
At EDF Small Business, everything we do is focused on helping small businesses thrive. Over the past year, we've been busy developing new products, creating more ways to connect with business owners, and supporting entrepreneurs across the UK.
Here's a look behind the scenes at some of the exciting initiatives we've launched this year.
New tariffs designed for small businesses
One of our biggest milestones this year has been the launch of our new No Standing Charge tariff for small businesses, alongside continued support for customers through our Small Business Renewables tariff.
We know that every penny counts, particularly for businesses looking to manage costs in an increasingly challenging economic environment. That's why we introduced a tariff that removes the daily standing charge, giving eligible small business customers a new way to take greater control of their energy costs.
At the same time, our Small Business Renewables tariff continues to provide customers with an option that supports their sustainability ambitions, helping businesses choose an energy product backed by renewable electricity while maintaining a simple and straightforward approach to their energy needs.
By listening to customer feedback and understanding the unique challenges faced by small businesses, we've been able to develop offerings that provide greater flexibility, choice and value. Together, these tariffs demonstrate our commitment to supporting the UK's vibrant small business community with solutions that work for a range of business needs and priorities

Building a dedicated community on LinkedIn
This year also saw the launch of our dedicated EDF Small Business LinkedIn page.
We wanted to create a space specifically for small business owners and decision-makers—somewhere they could find relevant insights, practical advice and updates tailored to their needs.
Since launching the page, we've been sharing:
- Expert business tips and advice
- Energy-saving guidance
- Industry insights and trends
- Customer stories and success highlights
- Updates on EDF Small Business products and services
More importantly, it's become a place where we can have meaningful conversations with small businesses, understand what's important to them and celebrate their achievements.

Bringing small businesses to the High Street
This year we’re doing even more to support small businesses, one initiative is the launch of our EDF Small Business Pop-Up Shop in Brighton, delivered in partnership with Enterprise Nation.
We know that many small businesses dream of having a physical retail presence but can face barriers when it comes to the cost and risk of securing shop space. That's why we wanted to create an opportunity that removes some of those challenges.
The pop-up shop gives selected small businesses the chance to test out a retail environment and showcase their products to customers free of charge. It's an opportunity for entrepreneurs to gain valuable experience, increase brand awareness and learn what works before making longer-term retail investments.
Working alongside Enterprise Nation, we're proud to help provide a platform for ambitious businesses to grow, experiment and reach new audiences.

Helping customers understand their energy options
This year, we also focused on making energy information simpler and more accessible through a new series of gated content. Created by our EDF Small Business team, our aim was simple across the three guides – to help small businesses understand energy and make informed decisions that benefit their business.

Included in our up and coming guide to the Tariff Navigator it includes short, easy to follow videos that break down our different tariffs, explain how they work and help customers understand which options might be right for their business.
Taking centre stage for the series were Craig and Chelsea, who bravely stepped in front of the camera to bring the content to life. While the finished videos are packed with useful information, filming them wasn't without its challenges. Between perfecting scripts and explaining energy tariffs on camera, there were plenty of nervous laughs and memorable outtakes along the way.
Coffee and quote – rewarding small business customers that get a 60 second quote and check they’re on a tariff that’s right for them
We were also filming content for our Coffee and Quote campaign for EDF Small Business, capturing even more customer-focused content designed to make energy conversations simple and approachable. Some of the behind-the-scenes moments from those shoots have also found their way into the outtakes video, adding to the fun and showing what goes on when the cameras are rolling.
