A place where work and life fit together

Team power

We’re big believers in collaborating and sharing knowledge. Whether it’s a Games Day, hackathon or guild, we like to break down silos and work together to solve problems.

Flexible working

We understand the importance of work-life balance, and we support a mix of office and home working. Our work location is a place to connect and collaborate with colleagues and support effective working. It’s what you do, not where you do it, that matters.

Hear from our people about what makes working at EDF unlike anywhere else. Whatever your motivator, there’s a place for you in our software engineering team.

We're not your typical energy company

Working at EDF gives you the stability of a large organisation and development opportunities, within a dynamic and forward-thinking software engineering team

Start-up culture

“It’s an exciting time. We’ve got a start-up culture in a large organisation and that real emphasis on being able to affect change is important to me.”

We’ve reimagined everything about the way we do things. From the technology we use (almost exclusively cloud-based); to our collaborative working methods (like pair programming) and approach to where you work (home or office).

Blank canvas

“I saw a lot of opportunities, essentially a blank canvas to leave my print on and that sold the job”

Whether you’re a front-end, back-end, or somewhere-in-between developer, working with us is an opportunity to ditch the labels, grow your knowledge and focus on building great applications that help our customers.

Everyone's welcome

“We want someone who’s open-minded; a free thinker, and who speaks truth to power.”

We’ve built an inclusive, democratic and collaborative culture, where everyone’s opinion is valued. It's a place to work which encourages creativity and experimentation.
