The HPC Supply Chain (Commercial) Apprenticeship Programme will instil all the qualities and skills required to kick-start your career as a commercial professional with EDF Energy or one of our Supply Chain partners on the HPC project. You will spend 5 years learning from experts as part of the apprenticeship and, as well as getting valuable real world experience, you will study for a university level qualification. You can expect on-the-job training, classroom learning and the kind of practical experience you simply can’t get on a university campus. Real work, earning real money, with real career prospects.

During the apprenticeship you’ll also be working towards attaining membership of a professional body, which demonstrates to the supply chain and peers that you work to the highest professional and ethical standards. With our support you’ll study for a Construction and the Built Environment HNC at Bridgwater & Taunton College and then a Construction and Quantity Surveying Degree at University of the West of England (UWE). Please note, due to changes being introduced by UK Government the apprenticeship may be delivered against a different standard, which could change the delivery timetable.

At the end of the apprenticeship you will move into a permanent role in the EDF Energy HPC Supply Chain team or within one of our Supply Chain partners with responsibility for managing your own portfolio of contracts. As your career develops there will be opportunities to progress further within your home organisation for EDF Energy this could be in the HPC Supply Chain team or you could explore opportunities across the wider project portfolio or within other areas of EDF Energy. For Supply Chain partner opportunities could be across the whole wider company portfolio.

This year we have Supply Chain (Commercial) Apprentice opportunities available within EDF Energy working on the HPC Project or with two of our supply chain partners – Faithful+Gould and Balfour Beatty. During the assessment centre, we’ll give you more details on each of the opportunities available and work with you and the other organisations to identify the best opportunity.

We operate nuclear, coal and gas power stations and wind farms. We have a focus on safe, dependable energy generation and an ethos of service excellence. We intend to play a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK and secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees.

The nuclear power stations we plan to build will be the first in a new generation. So a career in this area is a truly unique opportunity – an opportunity to be at the forefront of new nuclear, and to enjoy a long and fruitful career helping us deliver the first nuclear power stations in the UK for twenty years. The first station to be built will be Hinkley Point C, Somerset, sited next to Hinkley Point A and B stations. This will be followed by a new station at Sizewell in Suffolk, and another in Bradwell, Essex.
