By joining the Smart Installation Society you'll help make the UK more energy efficient. We want our customers to become smarter with their energy. You'll have a big part to play by installing smart meters in their homes and helping them get to grips with the new technology.
You'll be able to work well under pressure, be good at solving problems and understand the importance of health and safety. You'll also be happy working on your own or as part of a team. (Please note that you'll need to have full-colour vision to apply for this role).
Whether you're an experienced smart meter installer or a trainee, it will be your responsibility to safely install, maintain and remove meters at our customers' homes. You'll also give people energy efficiency and safety advice as needed, as well as excellent customer service.
You can have a package of up to £35k, including overtime, if you're a qualified dual fuel installer.
We offer a competitive salary, a generous holiday allowance and an annual company bonus. We also have a flexible benefits package, which means you can choose a combination of benefits that suit you best.
You may choose to incorporate Critical illness Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance or Travel insurance as part of your benefits package.
You may choose to incorporate payroll Giving or Dining Card benefits as part of your benefits package.
You may choose to incorporate Private Healthcare Insurance, Dental Insurance, Health Screening or Healthcare Cash Plan as part of your benefits package.
You may choose to incorporate childcare vouchers, retail vouchers or our cycle to work scheme as part of your benefits package.
You’ll also be eligible for discounts from a broad range of high street name retailers.
We offer a starting salary of £19,632 rising to £24,908 (£28,408 London allowance) upon completion of your training. We also offer an annual bonus that’s equivalent to 3% of your salary, in recognition of hitting your targets, and an additional monthly performance bonus scheme too.
Our training programme lasts around 45 days and is made up of classroom-based sessions alongside technical workshops and assessments. They’re all run by our team of trainers and assessors. You’ll also have on-the-job mentoring days with a qualified smart metering installer.
After your training programme, we’ll ask you to come to a series of interviews. And once you pass them, you’ll work for us as a qualified electrical smart meter installer.
And if you’re already an installer trained to ACS standards through a MOCOPA accredited training scheme, we’ll work with you to help you continue to develop your skills.
We’re not currently taking applications for our Smart Meter Installer training programmes. Please regularly check this page for updates on upcoming vacancies.
