Most common questions people ask

Yes. A well-designed heat pump can keep your home warm through a cold UK winter. It runs for longer at a lower temperature than a gas boiler, keeping your home comfortably warm. The heat pumps we offer work in temperatures as low as -25°C.
Running costs depend on your home, heating system, electricity tariff and the boiler you’re replacing. Heat pumps are highly efficient, but electricity usually costs more per unit than gas. In our example, an air source heat pump costs less to run than an older, inefficient gas boiler, but more than a new efficient gas boiler. A well-designed system, suitable radiators, good insulation and the right tariff can all help keep running costs down.
Government grants can cut the upfront cost of a heat pump. If you live in England or Wales, you may be able to get help through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Homeowners in Scotland can get separate support through Home Energy Scotland. The amount you can get depends on where you live, your current heating system and whether you meet the scheme’s rules.

Not every home needs new radiators or additional insulation. Before recommending a system, we’ll assess how much heat your home loses and check your existing radiators. Some properties may benefit from larger radiators or insulation improvements to help the heat pump work efficiently and keep running costs down. Any necessary changes should be explained as part of your personalised quote.

A heat pump needs some space. The main unit sits outside, with clear space around it so air can flow. You’ll usually need room indoors for a hot-water cylinder too. The outdoor unit makes a quiet sound, a bit like a fridge. You may notice it more when it works harder in cold weather, but you shouldn’t normally hear it inside your home.
