About EDF Energy

EDF Energy is one of the largest energy companies in the UK. We generate around 7% of the UK's electricity, employ over 11,500 people and a quarter of the UK population depend on us to deliver their electricity.

We are the in-area electricity supplier for London, the south east and the south west of England and supply energy to around 5 million customers through our retail brands London Energy, Seeboard Energy, SWEB Energy and EDF Energy.

We own and manage the distribution network covering the south and east of England and we operate coal- and gas-fired power stations, private CHP plants and wind farms.

In addition, we are also one of the largest private networks operators in the UK, having important contracts with BAA's Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, the London Underground and Canary Wharf.

The company is divided into four main branches:

EDF Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of the EDF Group, one of Europe's largest energy groups.
