Performance Report 2004
Ambition 1: Customers

Our Development Customers

In April 2004, the formation of Development Branch brought together the infrastructure development interests of LE Group and Seeboard. The branch operates electrical infrastructure, asset management and construction business operations in the commercial market. The integration makes EDF Energy the largest utilities company operating in the UK Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Private Finance Initiative (PFI) markets.

The branch is divided into three business units: Investments, Major Projects and Contracting. Together, these three parts reflect our core activities, which are the financing, operation, maintenance and construction of electrical assets.

Significant developments in 2004 include the negotiation of a 30-year contract to deliver multi-utility infrastructure assets for MOD sites, our selection as the preferred bidder for the Ealing streetlighting project, and the submission of a bid to London Underground for a number of major electrical upgrades over the next fifteen years. We have also developed key account manager roles to deliver a greater level of service to our major customers.
