Are you one of the many EDF Energy customers generating renewable electricity on your premises? You could be paid by us for every unit of electricity that you produce.
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
We have launched PPAs to help make renewable generation more financially viable and it is part of our commitment to reduce the UK’s carbon emissions.
Generate income, not just electricity
Our PPAs are designed to be nice easy earners. We pay you for every unit of electricity you generate, even if you use it all on your site. To keep things simple for smaller installations, there is no need for complex export metering, no administration charges and no minimum threshold of energy production.
You simply need to be an EDF Energy business customer with a renewable generator and an Ofgem approved total generation meter on your premises. We can also help you get accredited under these schemes with Ofgem and once you’re set up, we’ll manage the ongoing correspondence on your behalf.
How it works
As an EDF Energy electricity customer, you can sign a PPA contract at any time during the year. This is a 1-year rolling contract which, due to ROC compliance rules, renews on 1st April every year.
The price we pay you includes the value of the renewable certificates (ROCs and REGOs – see Jargon Buster) linked to the renewable energy you generate.
