Are you one of the many EDF Energy customers generating renewable electricity on your premises? You could be paid by us for every unit of electricity that you produce.
From 1st April 2010, EDF Energy is a mandatory Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) licensee
Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) have been launched by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), to make renewable generation more financially viable and help the UK’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions.
Generate income, not just electricity
Feed-in Tariffs are designed to be nice and easy earners. We pay you for every unit of electricity you generate and for each unit you export. To keep things simple for smaller installations, there is no need for complex export metering.
Feed-in Tariffs are for newly installed generators with one of the following technologies;
- Solar photovoltaic
- Wind Turbine
- Anaerobic Digestion
- Hydro
- Micro CHP
Smaller installations just need to have a MCS Accredited station, for more details click here.
Larger installations should gain accreditation from Ofgem before signing up to Feed-in Tariffs.
How it works
As a Feed-in Tariffs generator, you can sign our Feed-in Tariffs contract at any time during the year. This is a rolling contract with a fixed p/kWh rate for the energy you generate, and the energy you export. The price we pay you is dependent on the systems size and technology, and is governed by DECC. We will pay you quarterly and let you choose the method of payment that suits you.
