- I already have loft insulation – do I qualify to have it renewed?

If you have less than 60mm existing loft insulation then yes, you qualify. If you have greater than 60mm existing then you are not eligible but if you wish to top up your loft insulation you can get it delivered to your home at a greatly discounted price at DIY Loft insulation
- How do I know if I have cavity walls?

If your home was built after 1920, the chances are that its external walls are made of two layers with a gap or cavity between them. This picture indicates how your brickwork would look if you had cavity walls

- How long will the survey take and do I need to be at home?

The survey should take no more than an hour and you'll need to be at home while the survey is carried out as the contractor will need to inspect your property and explain to you if your property is suitable for the work to be carried out.
- Who carries out the work and how do I know it’s safe to allow them in my home?

Work will be carried by highly trained EDF Energy approved contractors. If you wish to check that the company is working on our behalf please call 0800 096 9966† and we'll be able to confirm this for you.
- If I qualify for the free installation/insulation, would I be expected to pay any money at all?

In most cases, there'll be no charge for the insulation, but certain properties could be subject to additional charges. Please see terms and conditions for further information.
- How do I qualify for the reward of up to £200?

To qualify, you (or someone in your household) must receive one of the following benefits or benefit combinations:
Either
1. Child Tax Credit and has a household income below £16,190
Or
2. State Pension Credit
Or
The household must be in receipt of any of the benefits below PLUS one of the add on benefits (a-e)1. Income-related employment and support allowance, including work-related activity or support component.
2. Income-based job seeker’s allowance.
3. Income support.Plus one of the following
a) Parental responsibility for a child under the age of five who normally resides with that member.
b) Child tax credit which includes a disability or severe disability element
c) A disabled child premium.
d) A disability premium, enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium.

You will need to provide evidence of this at the point of your survey.
- How is the reward paid?

If you qualify you’ll get a prepaid Visa card loaded with £100 for each eligible insulation measure (cavity wall insulation or loft insulation). You should be sent this up to 8 weeks after your successful installation.
