There are lots of different ways to pay your gas and electricity bills. Just choose the method that suits you best.

Direct Debit – you can pay your gas and electricity bills monthly or quarterly by Direct Debit. If you’re already an EDF Energy customer call us now to set up your Monthly Direct Debit payment on 0800 096 2260†.

Standing order – you can pay your gas and electricity bills monthly by standing order but you need to tell us first.

Debit or Credit card – use your Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Delta or Solo card to pay your gas and electricity bills over the phone.

EnergyCard – a great way to spread the cost of your gas and electricity bills. For more details about using an EnergyCard, please call customer services on 0800 096 9000† and ask for a leaflet.

Telephone or Internet banking – to pay your gas and electricity bills this way you’ll need our sort code and account number plus your EDF Energy account number. You’ll find the information you need on the back of your gas and electricity bills.

By post – if you pay your gas and electricity bills by post, make your cheque payable to EDF Energy Customers plc and write your EDF Energy account number on the back. Send your cheque to the address printed on the back of your gas and electricity bills.

Post Office – you can pay your gas and electricity bills at the Post Office, but they may charge you for this service.

PayPoint – use your EnergyCard to pay your gas and electricity bills at any PayPoint outlet. Find your nearest PayPoint location.

Bank or Building Society – you can pay your gas and electricity bills by cash or cheque at your bank or building society, but they may charge you for this service. Cheques should be payable to EDF Energy Customers plc and your EDF Energy account number should be written on the back.

Prepayment meter – our home prepayment meters let you pay as you go for the energy you use, but you’ll need to let us know if you want to switch your gas and electricity to a prepayment meter.

Having trouble paying your bills?

Independent advice

If you have serious money worries it may be worth contacting your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Money Advice Centre for independent advice. They’ll tell you about the benefits you may be entitled to and can also help you to manage your money better and prioritize repayment of any outstanding debts.

You must be an EDF Energy customer to register for our Direct Debit option. To speed up your registration please have your EDF Energy account number(s) handy when you call. You’ll find them on your latest gas and electricity bills.

Direct Debit is not available to customers receiving a supply though a prepayment meter.
