Using a solar water heating system can help you reduce your CO2 emissions at home and prove cost effective over the long term.
How it works
Solar water heating systems use heat from the sun; they work alongside your conventional water heater. They have three main components:
- Solar panels or collectors – fitted to your roof to collect heat from the sun
- A heat transfer system – to heat warm water using the collected heat
- A hot water cylinder – to store the water heated during the day for later use
How it’s installed
There are a lot of factors to consider before deciding which solar heating system is right for you – and all systems are best installed by an accredited professional.
