Solar water heating systems use heat from the sun and work alongside your conventional water heater.
How it works
Solar heating for domestic hot water comprises three main components:
- Solar panels or collectors – fitted to the roof of your property to collect heat from the sun.
- A heat transfer system – uses the collected heat to warm water.
- Hot water cylinder – stores the hot water that is heated during the day and supplies it for use later.
How it is installed
There is a lot to consider when deciding on a system that is suitable to your needs and the system is best installed by an accredited installer.
