You can meet your hot water needs more efficiently buy fitting automatic timers to your hot water heating system.

How it works

The most common heating controls are:

  • time programmer – allows you to set on and off times for your heating and hot water
  • integral thermostat – required on all immersion heaters to control water temperature and stop systems overheating
  • time switch – allows you to minimise heat loss and energy costs to heat water only when you want to and to take advantage of off-peak energy tariffs
  • dual elements switch – enables a second heater element to be switched on and off, while the first is permanently connected to an off-peak supply.

How it’s installed

All hot water controls must be installed by an approved professional.
