Insulating your loft and cavity walls could save you money on your energy bills – and now we are offering it for FREE^
Loft insulation works a bit like a blanket for your roof by stopping rising heat escaping. By keeping more heat inside your home you don’t need to use as much to stay just as warm. In fact insulating a currently uninsulated loft with 270mm of new insulation, could save up to £175 and 720kg of CO2 a year1. This winter we’re offering it for free^ to help you save money.
How it’s installed
Loft insulation is usually quick and easy to install and typically takes no more than a day. The material is simply laid over the floor of the loft and then over the joists if they are visible.
The full process from you application to insulation installation takes on average three months. However, we do expect high demand on this offer and you may experience delay in installation.
We think it is important to let you know that not all properties will be suitable for insulation:
- You won’t be eligible for free insulation if you already have more than 60mm thick loft insulation, or if we are unable to insulate at least two thirds of the total loft surface.
- There will be a charge if you have a large (5-bedroom) or non-standard property.
- If we need to use specialist systems or equipment to carry out the work then there will be a charge for this and we’ll advise you at the time of your survey.
- We may be unable to offer free insulation in some areas of the UK. These include most postcodes in the Isles and northern Scotland. We’ll let you know if this is the case when you apply.
