Updating your old washing machine or fridge could save you money and reduce your carbon emissions at home.

How it works

Across the European Union, household appliances carry energy labels, rating their efficiency from A to G. A is the most efficient, G the least efficient. For refrigerators the labeling system goes up to A++ .

EU law requires that energy efficiency labels are displayed on all refrigeration appliances, electric tumble dryers, washing machines, washer dryers, dishwashers, electric ovens, air conditioners, lamps and light bulb packaging. The most efficient products also carry the Energy Saving Recommended logo.

How it’s installed

Installation requirements vary from product to product.
