This is an ideal opportunity to review your account. If you are able to provide accurate readings we can ensure that your future amounts are adequate for your usage. The monthly payment amounts are calculated to cover your total usage over a year. Reducing monthly payments during the higher usage winter months may mean that you are not paying enough, which will potentially mean your payments will have to go up again later in the year. Our electricity prices are already very competitive and we passed on the lowest overall electricity increases last year. We are constantly reviewing how the cost of wholesale electricity compares with the prices we charge our customers to ensure best value for money and if it is possible to do so we will certainly pass on electricity decreases in the future. - Will there be any future decreases?

- I’m on a fixed price tariff, what does this mean for me?

When joining a fixed price tariff you take advantage of not getting any price increases for the term of the tariff, this does also mean that your prices won’t reduce. You can leave your fixed product at any time but you may be liable for the termination fee stated in your terms and conditions.
- Is there anything else I can do to reduce the amount I spend on energy?

Yes this decrease is also applicable to our gas prepayment customers and you should make sure you charge your card with the new prices.
- How do I know that the new price has been applied to my meter?

We will remotely send your new prices to your charging outlet. Please charge your card on or after the 26 March 2010. Your new prices will be automatically transferred to your card.
- Will I need a meter exchange?

No, a meter exchange will not be necessary.
- Does the price decrease mean I will need a new prepayment card?

No, you will not need a new card. To benefit from the new prices just top up your existing card.
- I charged my card just prior to the price change, how can I start benefiting from the new prices?

Go to your regular charging outlet on or after on or after the 26 March 2010 and charge your card with as little as £1.00, in order to pick up your new prices. When you insert the card into your meter, the tariff on the meter will be updated to the new prices and any credit left on the meter will then be used at the new decreased prices.
- Do I need to read my meter on the day of the energy price change?

No, we will estimate your consumption on the day of the price change and charge the electricity used up to that date at the old prices. The energy used after that date will be charged at the new price.
- What can I do about future price rises?

You should think about fixing your prices. This will mean that your energy prices will not rise above a certain level, whatever happens in the energy market.
