EDF reduces its fixed prices with new tariff matching April price cap
EDF has launched a fixed tariff that matches the cost of the upcoming 1st April price cap, making it the cheapest energy-only fixed price among major suppliers. Simply Fixed 2Yr Mar28v3 is a two-year fixed-term product which will be priced at £1,772 and will drop to £1,641 from 1st April in line with policy cost changes on bills.

From 2 March, the Radio Teleswitch Service, RTS, signal will be permanently switched off in parts of the South East as part of a nationally coordinated programme.

Beat the Cap: EDF cuts standing charges by £100
EDF has increased the discount of its tracker tariff, Simply Tracker Extra Jun27, reducing annual standing charges by £100. The fixed-term tracker tariff tracks Standard Variable prices and will undercut Ofgem’s price cap by £100. Unlike other tracker tariffs, EDF’s Simply Tracker Extra Jun27 guarantees savings of £50 per fuel on standing charges, against the price cap.

EDF continued to be a major investor in Britain in 2025, investing over £5bn to strengthen longer term energy security, whilst generating £1.9bn in earnings (EBITDA). Over the next three years EDF plans to invest a further £15bn in the UK across its different businesses.
