We launched regional media awards for the South West in June 2005. The awards were well received by print and broadcast media so we extended them, to cover the east of England, then London and the south of England too. The awards are run in conjunction with HoldtheFrontPage.co.uk, the website for journalists.
Our regional media awards recognise the very best regional print and broadcast journalism, from both individuals and media organisations as a whole.
Individual categories include:
- Daily print journalist of the year
- Newcomer of the year
- Business journalist of the year
- Sport journalist of the year
- Environmental journalist of the year
Our group categories include:
- Daily newspaper of the year
- Weekly newspaper of the year
- Radio news/current affairs programme of the year
- Television news/current affairs programme of the year
- Community campaign of the year
Each short-listed journalist or organisation is invited to attend the lunchtime ceremony, held at a regional venue of interest. The awards also support The Journalists’ Charity.
