Guidelines to Completing the Application Form
We recruit for our Advanced Apprencticeship Scheme in phases by geographical area.
The current phase is Phase 2 and covers the area shown in this map.
The closing date for Phase 2 applications is Sunday, 9 March, 2008.
The application process includes an assessment day prior to the interview.
Filling out the Application Form
Please ensure you read the information on this website carefully to ensure you meet the criteria and that the job conditions are suitable for you.
Before you start
- Take a photocopy of the entire Application Form to practice on, if you are filling out by hand. If working on your PC, make and use a copy of the original
- Read the application form and make sure you understand any instructions
- Check the deadline by which you need to return the form
Completing the application form
- Complete the form in your own handwriting, preferably in black ink or, if you are completing on-screen, use a standard, clear font, because the form will be photocopied
- Write or print clearly. If filling out on-screen, avoid italics and very small font sizes
- Do not type your answers and paste them in the spaces provided. Use the form itself. If you only use half the space, there is a fair chance you have not given sufficient evidence. We can only make a decision on the information that you give us, so make sure you have given us all the relevant information we need for each question
- Complete accurately. Make sure any dates given are correct and that any gaps are explained
- If you need to use additional sheets of paper for any section, please ensure that you put your name on the top of the sheet and attach it securely to the application. On-screen, please simply expand each section in the Word document
Education
Specify the level and/or type of qualification i.e. GCSE, A-Level, BTEC, City & Guilds and the subject. It is essential to include all the grades you received for examinations.
Important: If you are about to take your examinations, it is essential that you include your predicted grades.
Work Experience
- Describe in detail the work you have undertaken
- Outline what you learnt from the experience e.g. specify practical skills, knowledge gained, etc
- State how this experience will assist you with the Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme.
Reasons for applying for the Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme
In this section you are invited to explain why you are applying for the scheme by using any knowledge you have of EDF Energy Networks Ltd. Make sure that you mention your experience, skills, achievements and knowledge gained in employment, voluntary, community work or leisure interests. Where possible, show how specific experience(s) gained relates to the Advanced Apprenticeship scheme you are applying for.
You need to complete and return your application form in enough time that it arrives before the closing date.
