The health of our employees is really important to EDF Energy and the Occupational Health Service is set up to support the Company’s ambition of ‘zero harm’ as set in our Health and Safety Policy Statement.
The occupational health team is here to help. We can help you keep healthy whilst at work. If the risk assessment of your particular job indicates that a specific health assessment is necessary, then we have a structured programme of health surveillance and fitness for work assessments to safeguard your health at work. These include such things as hearing tests, vision screening and lung function testing.
Through providing ergonomic advice, including job design and risk assessments, we are able to help prevent you developing musculoskeletal, stress and psychological problems at work. We also provide manual handling training through our ‘Back in Shape Programme’ and training in improved resilience through our ‘Resilience Enhancement Programme’.
You are able to self-refer with such problems as back pain, neck or knee pain, confident in the knowledge that you will receive expert advice and treatment with all clinical details subject to strict medical confidentiality. Similarly and again subject to strict medical confidentiality, you can also self-refer to Occupational Health for stress or mental health problems as well as to the Employee Support Programme (ESP) – our psychological support service of clinical psychologists and cognitive behavioural therapists who are there to help you cope with both work and non work related difficulties.
We also have a varied programme of health promotion initiatives across the different parts of the business to increase your health and well-being. These include fit clubs, quitting smoking courses, lifestyle health screening and stress awareness. Fact sheets on different health topics are also available for you to download from our dedicated intranet web page.
We offer subsidised healthcare cash plans to our employees, dependent on role. Conditions apply.
