Person Climbing Stairs

Our business relies on commitment from very talented and skilled people. That’s why we go to such trouble to get hold of the best, keep them and help them develop new skills and specialities. A quick look at our Career Paths section will give you an idea of the kind of help and support you can expect when it comes to your career development.

When you join us we can offer you financial assistance to complete further study. This assistance can be for many things: your registration, for example; your tuition and examination fees; your membership of a professional body; the cost of a residential course; or the cost of your books. In some cases, if distance learning isn’t available, we may be able to give you time out to study at college.

When you first arrive you’ll undergo a thorough induction. In time, if you’re eager to progress your career into leadership roles, you could join a foundation-level management development programme specifically designed to prepare you for a leadership role. Here, you'll learn how to manage projects, deliver powerful presentations and foster effective teams. You’ll also develop new techniques in group problem solving. You’ll learn how to plan strategically. You’ll gain skills in motivation, goal setting, giving feedback – in fact, everything you need to become a great manager of people.

You will also get the opportunity to take part in site visits to enable you to get a broad overview of the business. The experience will help you to network with your client group, understand our ambitions and prepare for any role in the future.

On joining, we'll appoint a mentor for you, to guide you through the programme, answer any questions and offer you any other advice – professional or personal. They’ll work with your line manager to help you take your development forward and make sure there is a constant support network. Everyone in that network will be there to guide you, identify new areas to develop and help you take the next step in your career development. You will also have a ‘buddy’ – usually a member of our current graduate team – who can share their experiences with you and help settle you in to new working environments and assignments.

On top of this you’ll enjoy the benefit of experienced and highly talented professionals around you every step of the way.
