working at desk

Our 2012 schemes are now closed. The 2013 Business Project Analyst Scheme will open for applications in the Autumn.

Join us as a Business Project Analyst graduate in Energy Sourcing and Customer Supply (ESCS) Transformation, and you’ll be part of some high profile business change projects that will help to deliver the vision for Transformation, continuously improving project delivery and driving operational performance through high performing people.

Who is it for?

Graduates with at least a 2:1 in any subject, who are comfortable with analytical work and have an aptitude for problem-solving and working collaboratively.

Where you fit in

Transformation manages and develops all ESCS change projects and works with the business to ensure the change agenda is successful. By acting as an internal partner to the various business areas, Transformation takes responsibility for a smooth transition while the operational teams focus on ‘the day job’ with the minimum of disruption.

Transformation operates in every part of ESCS from our power stations to customer services and everything in between. They have responsibility for managing projects that impact our people, systems and ways of working. There will be opportunities to work on different types of project for the various teams, which is an excellent way to learn about the whole organisation.

What will you be doing?

Analyst is a broad term, covering a number of roles. In this instance we are not talking about number crunching at a desk as the focus of this role is being a partner to your business area throughout change projects. Alongside planning and analytical work, the key activities may include; facilitating workshops, gathering requirements and presenting back your solutions. Stakeholder management is also a critical part of this role.

You could contribute to large scale projects with a multi-million pound budget such as major systems changes or take responsibility for delivering small changes such as the introduction of new, but essential, processes. Some projects are driven externally, such as the requirement to deliver Smart Metering to all UK customers in line with Government deadlines of 2020, while other projects are required to meet internal objectives that enable the company to perform more effectively.

As part of the Transformation team, you could be based at any of our ESCS sites for your placements. These include central London, Bexleyheath, Crawley, Hove, Worthing, Exeter, Plymouth, Gloucester and Doxford.
