What does it involve?

At EDF Energy, our IT function provides an essential service right across the business. It not only supports the diverse infrastructure of IT systems that underpin everything from our power stations to our offices. It also provides the technical insight and expertise that will help drive change as the business continues to evolve.

The whole idea of our IT internship is to give you the broadest possible exposure to our work. With that in mind, during your time here, you’ll have the chance to get involved in a rich variety of day-to-day IT support activities, as well as more strategic, and far-reaching, company-wide initiatives. To help you get to grips with the project management aspects of IT, we’ll also line you up with your own small projects and work requests to take care of.

Who is it for?

Chances are, you’re currently studying for a computing or IT-related degree. So you’ll understand the basics of networking and know your way around Windows OS and MS Office. Most important, however, is that you’re keen to take ownership of your experience on the internship. We’re eager for you to achieve a great deal – and we want to see that eagerness reflected in you.

Where is it based?

Direct, hands-on IT support is crucial the smooth-running of every EDF Energy site. So you could be based at any one of our power stations around the country, our Head Office at Barnwood in Gloucestershire or one of our other UK offices.
